Safes and lock boxes provide physical security for sensitive documents, data backups, and access credentials by protecting them from unauthorized access, theft, and fire damage.
Safes & Lock Boxes
Another thing that you'll see out there are safes: a place that we can keep our documents, our records, our data in a safe place that's locked up. A safe serves as a great way to lock up those types of things, like data backup.
Safes are usually pretty heavy. A lot of times they'll guard against fire and theft. But there's also lock boxes. This is a lock box. It's not as thick, it's not as heavy, and this one happens to be portable, just because this is a cash box. A lot of times I'll have some sort of lock box that's up on the wall that's mounted, and then there's lots of keys in there for cabinets or for other access to the IT equipment. So that's another example, similar to safes there.
Essentially it could be a place that we store maybe our backup drives in these safes and keep them in there. So it's a great way to keep our documents and data protected from both access and maybe something like fire and that type of thing.
