Another core principle is redundancy. We want to make sure we have redundancy within our networks, because inevitably something is going to fail on us and we need to be prepared for that.

Redundancy is somewhat like a spare tire. Hopefully we don't need it, but if we get a flat tire, it's really helpful to have that spare tire. Otherwise we have to jump through a lot more hoops to get back on the road and get to where we're going. Having a spare tire allows us to just change out that flat tire and continue along our way.

Redundancy is going to be critical if you're trying to maintain a level of availability for your users. There are lots of areas that we will want redundancy in. We're going to get much more in depth into this in another module, but some of the aspects that we want to create redundancy in are:
