This right here is the Oculus Quest 2. These things are so amazing. It gives you this immersive experience into a three-dimensional world that you can navigate through, you can interact with. It's just amazing how far we've come with these virtual reality and how accessible they are nowadays.

Virtual reality is this computer generated simulation. It does 3D imaging, and you're able to interact with it in a seemingly real way. So it's just this immersive experience. Some examples is Quest, like the one I showed you right here, and then we have the Apple Vision Pro.

There are some purposes for it. It is mainly gaming, there's some entertainment stuff, but it can be used for engineering and remote work tasks. So there is some other applications to this as well, like the healthcare industry has used it for patients and for doing surgeries and that kind of stuff. So pretty cool stuff.

And OS examples: Meta Horizon OS is an example, Vision OS is another example. The main apps that are used for it that I've seen are games, although like I say there is some productivity tasks and stuff you could do with it. And it just generates this immersive experience. It's very, very entertaining.

And then some of the drawbacks is there is some health concerns with it. So when you're in there you can tend to get some motion sickness, and just like any video game system, they can be addicting. So there are some things to watch out for, but just a really cool fun experience being immersed into this three-dimensional world.

Inside the headset

I was actually going to break these apart and we were going to take a look at the processor and stuff that was inside of it. However, the problem is I don't have the right screw reset to actually open this up, so I don't have the tools to open it up and put it back together. Otherwise I'd certainly show that to you.

If we were to actually break it down, though, this is what it would look like on the inside, and we can see this little board that I'm outlining here. This board essentially, it's like a phone board with a processing unit on it and some memory on it, and so this is what runs the system. So it's a little mini computer.
