About this interactive
The Software Compatibility and Requirements lesson gives you the checks to make before installing a program.
System requirements usually come as two columns: the minimum, the least the program needs to run, and the recommended, what it needs to run well. Premiere Pro, in the lesson, asks for 8 GB of RAM at minimum and recommends 16 GB. Compare every spec on the card: RAM, CPU cores, free storage, and the video RAM on the graphics card. If everything is at or above the recommended level, you get the program at its best. If everything meets the minimum but something is below the recommended level, it runs, but not as well.
Some checks are not about amounts. Is the program made for this operating system (Safari runs on Apple's systems, not Windows)? Is it a 64-bit program on a 32-bit operating system (About your PC shows the system type)? Does it work only with the graphics cards on its hardware compatibility list? Does it need other software installed first, like the Java runtime the Minecraft server needs, or a hardware token plugged in? Any of these, unmet, means it is not ready to run here yet.
Drag each card into a bin, then check your answers.
