About this interactive
Four demo lessons on reaching people.
Email clients. A web-based client, such as Gmail at mail.google.com, shows your email only while you are online. An installed client, such as Outlook, downloads the email onto the computer, so you can still read it with no internet.
Instant messaging. You type a message and hit Enter, and it travels from an app over the internet, not over the cellular system that phone texting uses. Slack groups people in channels, Google Chat in spaces, and a direct message goes to one person.
Conferencing. When something is too elaborate for an email or a message, set up a conference: camera, voice, screen sharing and breakout rooms for smaller groups. Most instant messaging apps can do video too.
Unified communications rolls instant messaging, phone or VoIP calls, conferencing and mobility into one tool, such as Teams.
Read each situation, choose, then read the reveal.
