About this interactive
From the lesson:
- A database server hosts databases, a database holds tables, and a table holds records.
- A table has columns (in the lesson: employee ID, last name, first name, work phone), and each row is one record, here one employee.
- In a relational database the tables relate to each other. The lesson's example is a customers table and a table of what they buy, put together for every sale.
In these items each sale carries the customer's ID, which is how the two tables relate: to find who made a sale, take its customer ID and find that row in the customers table. A query does the same thing for you, pulling the matching records.
Type names and table names as they are written in the item. Capital letters do not matter to the checker.
