About this interactive

What you are doing: sorting each piece of false information into the lesson’s three kinds. Misinformation: wrong, but unintentionally. The person sharing it believes it is correct. Disinformation: intentionally misleading, put out to trick or fool people. Deep fake: the next step, fake audio or video that makes it look as though a real person said or did something they never would. How to use it: first ask whether the person spreading it knows it is false. If not, it is misinformation. If they do, ask whether it is audio or video of a real person. If so, it is a deep fake; otherwise, disinformation.
