About this interactive
Eavesdropping is listening in on something not meant for you, and the lesson places it in two settings. In person means you are on site and your ears pick up spoken words: overhearing staff in a lobby, catching a phone call in earshot, sitting beside staff in the canteen. On the network means equipment picks up the traffic crossing a wire or the air: a sniffer on a tap, capturing frames off the office Wi-Fi, reading cleartext credentials as they pass. The common thread is that both are passive — you only listen, you do not alter the message (altering it would be an on-path, man-in-the-middle attack, a different thing). So the only question is the medium: a conversation overheard, or traffic captured.
