Backup arguments are settled by counting, not by preference: each of the four types has a known run size, a known restore step count and a known frequency it can sustain, and the right choice falls out of an RPO and an RTO once those numbers are on the table. This drill makes you produce them. It asks which type a stated scenario calls for across full, differential, incremental and synthetic full; how many restore operations a stated schedule requires — one for a full, two for a full plus a differential however far into the week you are, and N + 1 for a full plus N incrementals; how many files a given run copies on a folder whose change history is stated; how often backups must run to hold an RPO of 15 minutes, an hour or a day; how the archive bit produces the growth in a differential and the lack of it in an incremental; and whether a stated requirement is a recovery point objective or a recovery time objective. Every answer is typed and graded exactly, and a miss shows the reasoning that produced it rather than only the answer.
